Let’s stop here. I am seasick and can’t move if we row ahead. This is too close to the shore. I can go a little bit further. All right. Can you see me clearly in this heavy fog? Don’t worry, it could be fish. Have you heard that the beast ate a human’s brain?

Shut up! Don’t say anything with ill fortune. Xiuniang! Xiuniang! Xiuniang! [The Beast in the River] What are they messing around? It is said that many people died in the river. The bodies were in pieces. That witch acted weirdly. She pieced the bodies together into one and called it the lock of soul.

She has nothing to do but fiddle with the dead bodies. Beast! Beast! This time we can post big news. The beast appeared in Tianjin again. These people had died. No intact bodies can be found. Today, I, on behalf of God, pieced the bodies together, and locked their souls under the river.

The God of the river, please protect the people of Tianjin, and keep us safe. Move the bodies to the river! I am going to pick up Linglong. Zhiyuan! The river is unsafe recently. Keep our buddies out of the river. Your souls are in the river which can bring peace to you.

May the dead be at peace soon. What’s that? Look! A whirlpool in the river! It’s ready to suck the bodies in. That’s true. What’s this? Run! God doesn’t respond. And the beast haunts. Tianjin must be in danger. Come on. Eat the fish. Yummy! Be careful of the fish bones. It tastes great. See.

What’s this? It’s so beautiful! Last time you stared it for quite a while at a vendor’s stand. I know you want this. Linglong. Aunt! Aunt. Look what I got you. A gift for school to begin. A beautiful pen! Thanks, Aunt! You are welcome! I am going to try this pen.

This is for Linglong. We don’t need the money. Take it back. When Linglong grows up, she will need money for many things. You don’t want the money, but I don’t want Linglong to feel wronged. Why do you always think Linglong lives a bad life with me?

If you really want the best for Linglong, you should have let me take care of her. And she will have different living conditions. Linglong is my daughter. I can also make money, and take good care of her. You said the same words when you married my sister.

Why would she be dead if you weren’t out there fighting everyday? I’m not in a gang anymore. Every penny I earn is clean. And I will never be the same again. Take your money back, please. I will scrape up the money and send her to school. I’m not gonna let Linglong leave me.

Gu Zhiyuan! If something bad happens to Linglong, I will never forgive you. Are you an idiot? Look at the newspaper and the news they posted! This messes up my business, and my workers are afraid to go into the river. All shipping has stopped! Master Kun, the newspaper is just full of crap.

There’s nothing I can do about it. Cut the crap. I’m giving you one day to resume shipping. If you don’t handle this, you’ll die. Yes, yes! Good morning, Uncle Tiezhu. Two portions of steamed stuffed buns. Linglong, where is your dad? He is making porridge at home.

The steamed buns came out a little late today. Just a moment. I can do it. I can handle it. You just go get some rest. All right. I’m afraid you’re too busy on your own. Help me out! Hurry up! Who’s that? Hurry up. A reporter of Tianjin Daily

Is brought in by the guards. Let’s go. Have a look. Go. What are you doing? Let her go. Miss Tang, the news that came out yesterday was a below-bar performance of you. We are now in the Republic of China. Don’t talk about feudalistic superstition. What I wrote was true. Everyone saw that thing.

Sheriff Hu, if you say this is superstition, please give us an explanation. You are right. I, Hu Tong, came here today to give you an explanation. What’s this? Is this really a beast? It’s just a big fish. But it makes people feel panicky. Listen, big fish! You don’t know what awesome is

Until I blow you up today. Now I have blown up the whole river. If there were any big fish out there, they’re all in pieces. Later you guys keep going to the river and shipping. What’s that? It must be the beast! The beast is coming! Beast? What are you talking about?

Whatever it is, I will kill it. If there was a beast, I would kill it anyway. Run! Open the door! Open the door! Please open the door! Open the door! Help! Linglong! Get up quickly! Tiezhu! Tiezhu! Linglong! Linglong! Linglong! Linglong! Linglong! Dad! Linglong! Run! Dad! Linglong! Dad! Linglong! Where is Linglong?

Gu Zhiyuan, where is Linglong? Answer me! Where is Linglong? Answer me! Xiaowei! Where is Linglong? Give Linglong to me! Xiaowei! Give Linglong to me! Xiaowei! Gu Zhiyuan, you said that you would protect her. But what have you done? Xiaowei, no one could expect that thing.

That beast would actually come ashore and eat people. What’s wrong with the camera? I was also in the dock today. This was scratched by the beast. Shitou. Zhiyuan, this belongs to our shipment. What shipment? That day Shitou and I were in the dock. Boss, the shipment is here. Don’t unload it.

Go there and take the money. Then get out of here. Hurry up! Isn’t that the beast? If it’s not the beast, and just took Linglong away… Then maybe Linglong could be alive. You two, stop! What are you doing here? I am looking for your boss. Who are you? Get out.

I’ll check it out. Who is so bold to see me? Two bamboos. Why are you staring? Fight him! Say! Buddy, calm down. I haven’t made any money today. You can take the money away. Two months ago, we delivered a big wooden box to you. Who ordered this box?

I am just in charge of the dock. I don’t know that. I will tell you! The box was taken by Master Kun of Shengyun Chamber of Commerce. Who are you? Master Kun. Someone broke in! Master Kun, where are you going? Buddy, we can talk. I will give you all the money

In the safe box and the house. You can spend it for the rest of your life. Did you deliver that beast? What beast? That big wooden box. Please spare my life. I am just delivering the box, and have no idea that what’s inside. Where did you deliver the box? The Children Hospital.

It’s in the Children Hospital. In the Children Hospital. If you don’t believe me, I can show you the shipping list. Look at this. I acted rashly and alerted them. Now there are many guards in the Children Hospital. And they all have guns. There is no way we can

Get in there on our own. If the beast was delivered to the Children Hospital, why would it appear in the dock? Even if the beast has been in the whole river, the hospital isn’t near the river, how did it get from here to there? Zhiyuan, I used to do navvy work.

I picked up trash by the river. There’s a lot of garbage and it smells… Shitou, wait, what are you talking about? Well, Zhiyuan. Look at it. The hospital is here. The river is there. The beast can go through a sewer from the hospital to the river. This is the closest way

Down to the hospital. Go ahead. And we can get to the Children Hospital. Shitou, are you sure about this way? Of course. Are you okay? I am fine. This is all medical waste. Looks like we’re pretty close to the hospital. This way. Zhiyuan, it smells terrible. That beast should be around.

This looks like a water dungeon. Shitou. Be careful. Gu Zhiyuan! Hide. Don’t move. Where is the beast? I know you have a hard time finding this place, but I don’t know where is it. You really are a monster. A baby died before he was even born. And I saw my daughter

Taken away from me by the beast. I should have killed you now. Gu Zhiyuan, calm down! I was trying to save sick kids. Master Kun invested me in this hospital to sell the drugs and earn money. But I am different. I don’t want to see children suffer from illness from an early age.

I worked on it day and night. But just as my work was about to succeed, the subject, which you called the beast, suddenly got huge and was out of control. I had to lock it down here. But it was still changing its shape. In the end, it escaped from the water dungeon.

So why didn’t you turn yourself in? Master Kun will kill me. Now the guards of Master Kun also surround here. I will be dead in the end. I only hope that I can do my best to make up for this. But I can’t catch the beast on my own.

But I know all about his habits. Maybe I can help you find its location. Before I die, I… Let me do something worthwhile before I die. Are you kidding? Why should we believe you? You can kill me now. But I don’t think you can find it later. If we keep this up,

Your daughter could really die. Shitou. It’s got a lot of saliva, which has special ingredients. All we have to do is to test the drains one by one, and we’ll find out where it’s hiding. The beast is bloodthirsty. It can track blood at a distance. So blood

Is the best way to attract it. However, I can only help you find its general location. It’s up to you to catch it. You don’t have to worry about that. Boss, I am in. We can set a trap. If we can’t beat the beast, we lure it into a trap.

Once you catch the monster, I’ll have my men sweep the cave until they find your daughter. Tiezhu. Ge. You go there. OK. Siyan, Pangzi, Shouzi. Go ahead and have a look. OK. Boss, we go there and check. OK. Let’s go. Be careful. Shitou, come with me. OK. Linglong! Linglong! Linglong! Linglong! Linglong! Linglong!

Linglong! This way. What’s that smell? Why are we looking for nothing? Keep your voice down. Or we will be found. Don’t lean on me. Go and have a look. Hurry up! Nothing happened! The beast is here. The beast is here. Siyan has been killed by it. Come here! Quick! Pangzi. Ge! Ge! Linglong!

Linglong! Linglong! Linglong! Linglong! Linglong! Linglong! Linglong! Dad! Zhiyuan! Zhiyuan! What happened? The beast is coming! It is vicious! Some of our men died. Let’s go! Hurry up! Go to the ambush hole! Let’s go! Dad! Linglong! Dad! Dad, I am here! Linglong! I am coming! Where are you? Dad! Linglong! Linglong! Dad!

Dad, I am so scared. I will be there in a minute. Dad, I thought I’d never see you again. Dad! Silly, I will never leave you alone. Dad! Hide! I am scared! Dad! Help me out here, Dad! Linglong. Linglong, don’t cry. Don’t make a sound. I will come back. Dad. Shitou! Tiezhu!

I am here. I am coming. Let’s go. We do this again. Take this! Come on! Come on! Shitou! Go to the ambush hole! Hurry up! Go around and bring it in. OK. It is coming. Zhiyuan! Tiezhu, go to the ambush hole. Ok. Pull! Zhiyuan! Don’t move. Don’t move. Don’t move. Don’t move.

Don’t move. Director Wu, you are impressive. You captured this beast without taking a single shot. Wu Xun! You! I knew there was an investigation into this, I just didn’t expect it to come out so quickly. Well, since you show up, you check it. If you die, you will be silenced.

But you really have some capabilities. You really caught the beast. That’s just what I want. Don’t move. Be quiet. What are you doing? To kill this beast. Master Kun. Things have gone too far already. Isn’t it just a few dead people? Who cares? There is no shortage of people in this world,

But there is only one beast. Cut the crap, or I will kill you too. Shitou! Shitou! Shitou! Let’s go! Let’s go. Let’s go. Open the door. Open the door. Help! Open the door. Open the door. Shitou! Go find another doctor! Hurry up! Shitou! Shitou, hang on there. Shitou! Hang on! Hang on! Xiaowei!

Tang Xiaowei! Come to help! Shitou! Shitou! Get up! Get up! Shitou! Open your eyes! Please open your eyes! Shitou! We have to leave here now. Linglong is waiting for me. I show you something. That day what we saw in the Wu Xun’s lab, wasn’t a study of children drugs at all.

This is the evolution image of this monster. Look! Wu Xun was using Master Kun’s money to do his own research. But how can we escape here and beat the beast on our own? Who said it was just the two of us? Hey, give me something to eat, please. Xiaowei, are you hungry?

I will arrange it for you. Dead loss. You are all useless! What have you done? Master Kun was dead. That beast is still eating people. If we don’t do our job right, we’re screwed. Why are you staring? Go and do your job! Who’s there? Can we talk? Sorry about that earlier. Master Gu.

Miss Tang. There must have been some kind of misunderstanding between us. We don’t have a misunderstanding. We want to give you a surprise. Yes, surprise! I owe you a front page. And I have a title now. The evil hospital fosters the beast, and the sheriff hides and connives. Is that a surprise?

Master Kun and Wu Xun did all this. I had nothing to do with that. Sheriff, are you kidding? In Tianjin, everyone knows that you are one of Master Kun’s men. You’re the one who put guards around the hospital these days. Now you tell me that you have nothing to do with this.

I wonder if anyone believes that? You! Now Master Kun was dead, and Director Wu maybe die a few days later. In the future, I wonder what you’re gonna do with your life. I didn’t mean anything but to show you the way. If you listen to us,

You not only take charge of Tianjin Police, but also can take charge of the whole of Tianjin City! What path? Kill the beast. Catch Wu Xun. This is a dead path! You think the beast is hungry, and let me arrange its feeding! If you can’t do this, it’s okay.

I can give the front page to you. You can show up with Wu Xun. Well, I… Boss, something happened! The prisoner, the prisoner broke out! Who is the prisoner? They are heroes who catch the beast. Wish us a triumphant return! We had a little misunderstanding. But I have great personal respect for you.

Later, if you can kill it down there, don’t bring it ashore. Because these guys on this team can’t handle it. And I was born with a problem. When something big happens, my heart hurts. However, if the beast is landing, I, Hu Tong, must smash it to pieces. Don’t worry. Don’t worry. Gu Zhiyuan,

I wait for you and Linglong. Anyway, I will bring Linglong back. Boss, I feel scared. What are you afraid of? I will kill this beast today! It’s coming! Let’s go! Let’s go! Dad! Linglong, this is safe now. Stay here and be quiet. Don’t make any sound. Dad, don’t go!

I don’t want you to go there. Dad, don’t leave me. Linglong, I will draw the beast away. And I will come back and save you. Come on! Zhiyuan, help! Hide! Let’s go! Stop! Dad! Stop! Linglong! Put out the fire. I told you, put out the fire. Dad! Let Linglong go,

And I will put out the fire. You throw a fire, and I will shoot her. Do you have any idea what you’re doing? It’s not too late to stop. Stop? In your eyes, the beast and I are the same. We are monsters. Ten years of research. Ten years of waiting.

I spend days and nights in this dark basement. It is like my own son. Tiezhu! How old is your daughter? She looks like a teenager. Then my child is younger than her. And it should call her sister according to the age. How could you burn it? Dad! Linglong! Dad! Go to hell!

Let’s go. Hurry up! Hurry up! The beast comes out, fire! Release the arrow! Linglong. Dad! Linglong! Linglong, I am really sorry for you. I didn’t give you a complete family. Maybe I’m not a great dad. But I can give you everything I have. We don’t have much money. But with your laughter,

I feel warm and happy. When happiness comes, I hope time can stop as long as possible. As long as possible. Linglong. I love you. I am willing to protect you with my whole life. Dad! Dad! Dad! Linglong! Dad! Linglong! Dad! Linglong! Linglong! Dad! Linglong! Dad! Dad! Gu Zhiyuan! [A month later.] Linglong? Dad!

The meal is ready. Come to eat. OK. Hurry, help me find a thing as a placement. Why do you use my newspaper? Isn’t that what newspapers are for? Come here. Try the soup I made. You can also eat. The dish will be cold later. Hurry up.
